Hard rock fans to invade quirky countryside town

Los Angeles-based metal act Fear Factory will also perform. The line-up will be completed by Sneaker Pimps singer Chris Corner’s solo project IAMX and reunited German cross-over rock act Guano Apes.

The winning act of Burgenland’s band competition "America is waiting", Hungarian groups, a rock seminar and delicious food stands with home-made delicacies will complete the event’s offerings.

The Picture On event has earned cult status for its relaxed atmosphere and fair-price policy. Day tickets will cost 38 Euros, a two-day pass 52 Euros.

Around 5,000 music lovers are expected to head to the 330-people-strong village near the Hungarian border. Many of them return every year after falling in love with the chilled setting of the event – which takes place in the backyard of a local church.

While other huge events result in residents complaining about noise and pollution, the elderly community of Bildein regards Picture On as the highlight of the year. Old women sitting in their front gardens to observe funny-looking young people strolling through the sleepy town are part of the beloved quirkiness that makes Picture On such a special event.
